Each show benefiting Breast Cancer Education and Support
We are donating 50% of all ticket sales from our 2009 expos to the Breast Cancer Awareness Association. The Association will also be given a booth at each show.
Our commitment is personal. Our Editorial Manager Robin Miller was diagnosed with an advanced form of breast cancer in fall 2008 and is currently undergoing treatment. We have seen firsthand how emotionally traumatic and physically debilitating these treatments can be. Our dedication also honors staff member Patti Splettstoeser, who lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer in 2008.
As we rally around Robin, our friend and colleague, we also want to support other Minnesota women who have embarked on this difficult and challenging journey. Please visit www.bcaamn.org to learn how you too might help.

Taking on the home show challenge
Market changes may be diluting your exhibit’s effectiveness. Here’s how to add sizzle to your home show participation
In theory, the home show business should be thriving right now. New housing construction is down, and home sales are suffering. More and more consumers are choosing to remodel their existing homes. These factors have the multi-billion dollar remodeling industry projecting double digit growth for the foreseeable future. So why are so many contractors and suppliers frustrated by their home show results?
Our company, Mid-America Events & Expos, reacted to these criticisms from Minnesota contractors and related industries a few years ago. In business since 1998, we too were witnessing the declining effectiveness of home shows. So we conducted a round table exhibitor forum and asked: What can we do to create a home show that will make your participation worthwhile?
