FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hee! Hee! Hee! Ho! Ho! Ho! Feeling Better?
Author and International Speaker Dale Anderson, M.D. will show Seniors Expo™ audiences why laughter is his prescription for health

International speaker Dale Anderson, M.D. will be making a special appearance at the fifth annual Seniors Expo™ to tell show attendees how to be "WELLderly." Anderson, a family and emergency physician and surgeon for more than 40 years, will share the secrets of reverse aging and how method acting and a positive attitude can change the body's chemistry - improving health and wellness.

Dr. Anderson, who also is the author of Never Act Your Age, will speak at the Seniors Expo™ on Monday, September 19th at 10 a.m. and again on Tuesday, September 20th at 11 a.m. The expo will be held Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.

"As a physician, I know that happy people are healthier people," says Dr. Anderson. "Every emotion has an associated body chemistry. My goal is to have everyone leaving my seminar knowing how to turn on the chemistry of a happy heart."

Dr. Anderson teaches some of the same techniques used by method actors before they go on stage to play a happy role. "Happy chemistry is created by your posture, your facial expression, how you breath, and more. Method actors even know the aroma of a character." He adds that everyone has their individual happy aromas. "For me, they are chocolate, popcorn and Aqua Velva."

Seminar participants also will be asked to fill a laughter prescription. "They will be asked to stand in front of a mirror and belly laugh for 15 seconds," said Dr. Anderson. "They also will be asked to define their own happy aromas, colors, tastes, sounds, music and even clothing. For an actor to portray a happy part on stage, it's not always what you see that counts. I often tell people to go so far as to wear flashy underwear!"

Dr. Anderson joins an impressive list of speakers and entertainers who also will be at the event, including Rhonda Whitenack and Jim Czechowicz, public affairs specialists with the Social Security Administration who will explain the ins and outs of the new Medicare Prescription Drug Program. Also on hand will be Plymouth Playhouse performers who will entertain the crowd with scenes from Church Basement Ladies.

For five consecutive years, the Seniors Expo™ has responded to the unique needs and desires of mature Americans. Each year, thousands attend the two-day event to hear valuable seminars and to explore aisle after aisle of exhibits featuring products and services geared specifically to them.

And it's all here: from vacation clubs to pharmacy services, fashion shows to investment counselors. There's also nonstop, lively entertainment. If that's not enough to keep you entertained, this is the fourth year that local women from across Minnesota will gather at the expo to compete in the Ms. Minnesota Senior America Pageant.

Many people return year after year to see this exciting pageant, which celebrates women ages 60 and above, and involves a talent demonstration and evening gown competition as well as interviews with the judges. It's lively fun as the ladies sing, dance, play musical instruments, recite their favorite poems, and describe their philosophy of life for the Seniors Expo™ audience. The winner goes on to compete in the national Ms. Senior America Pageant.

"There is always a variety of fun things to see and do at the show," says Robin Kocina, president of Mid-America Events & Expos, producers of the event. "People often come for the entire day because they can't fit it all into just a few hours. Plus, they can take time out to enjoy Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, then come back into the Seniors Expo™ just by showing us their Official Show Bag."

Senior admission is $6 at the door or $3 with the 1/2 price coupon available on the Mid-America Events & Expos Web site: www.101expos.com. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plenty of free parking is available. In addition, the public can catch any Mystic Lake shuttle bus to attend the Expo. Further information is available by calling the Expo hotline at 612-798-7256.
