Minnesota Lynx Assistant Coach, and four-time Olympic Gold Medallist Teresa Edwards offers her tips on staying motivated to achieve your goals
She will tell her inspiriting story at the Sports and Recreation Expo for Women


Teresa Edwards, Minnesota Lynx Assistant Coach and the first an only American basketball player (male or female) to compete in five Olympics, will appear live at the upcoming Sports and Recreation Expo for Women to tell her life story and to help inspire attendees to achieve their dreams.

She will tell her story, give some motivational tips, and take questions from the audience during her appearance during the Sports and Recreation Expo for Women (www.101expos.com), to be held March 24-25 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

A native of Cairo, Georgia, Teresa Edwards is the most decorated women's player in the history of USA Basketball. She is the first and only American basketball player  (male or female) to compete in five Olympics. After winning her first gold medal in 1984, Edwards has compiled more than 20 years of professional basketball experience. Some of her accomplishments include: four gold medals in the Olympics (2000, 1996, 1988, 1984), USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year a record four times (2000, 1996, 1990 and 1987).

Edwards’ stellar career also includes four NCAA Tournaments, two final four appearances, three SEC titles, 1985 and 1986 All-American Awards and three consecutive All-SEC First Team Honors. 

The Sports & Recreation Expo for Women will feature hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest in sports, fitness and recreational gear and equipment, clothing and related accessories, plus nonstop seminars to help attendees stay at the top of their game. With industry experts and women sports participants such as Minnesota Lynx Assistant Coach Teresa Edwards, PGA Master Professional Jock Olson, and Teaching Professional Andrea Kellar, the show is intended to inspire women to achieve their goals, and find even more fun and challenges in their recreational activities.

Show hours are Saturday March 24th from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday March 25th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $3 with the half price coupon available on the Web site and free to kids 17 and under when accompanied by an adult.  Further information is available on the expo hotline: 612-798-7256.
