FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Finally, a home show that's only about your home!
Meet qualified contractors, suppliers and designers -- but don't plan on getting your jewelry cleaned or your feet massaged at this expo

Have you ever wondered why so many of the businesses exhibiting at today’s home shows ironically have nothing to do with homes? “This can be frustrating for people who come to a show because they need help with a home remodeling project. They often must walk past aisle after aisle of unrelated services before they find what they need,” says Robin Kocina, President of Mid-America Events & Expos.

More than $291 billion is spent on remodeling annually, and that amount is expected to increase. Industry experts say that remodeling expenditures by homeowners and rental property owners now account for 40 percent of all residential construction and improvement spending. Yet most home shows don’t give this industry the attention it deserves.

The Mid-America Remodeling and Design Expo™, to be held November 10-11 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, was developed to ensure there is a show that focuses on remodeling, home products and interior design. You’ll find experts such as remodeling contractors, lighting and flooring suppliers, and design professionals who can help put the right touches on your project.

“With its narrower focus, this expo will be substantially different from all other area home shows, so our attendees can have more realistic expectations,” says Kocina.

Homeowners have been known to invest as much as 50 percent or more of their homes’ initial market value to update their living spaces. According to some experts, the largest percentage of that budget is spent on changing interior space such as kitchens, bathrooms and room additions.

The expo is being produced in partnership with The Builders Association of the Twin Cities Remodelers (BATC Remodelers). “This partnership makes sense because it enables homeowners who are planning remodeling projects to meet one-on-one with remodeling contractors who will complete the work properly and in accordance with our organization’s best building practices,” says BATC Remodelers President Marlene Killa.

“If  you are planning or working on a home improvement project, this expo will allow you to spend quality time meeting with quality businesses to discuss your specific needs, and comparing their services and products. All of our seminars and workshops will also be geared toward remodeling and home design,” Kocina explains.

“You won’t find someone offering to clean your jewelry, or check your spinal alignment at this show,” Kocina says. “What you will find are people who can help you remodel your bathroom or kitchen, or give you other ideas for updating and re-designing your home and making it more livable.”

“The Mid-America Remodeling and Design Expo™ will truly be a place where experts and consumers can find each other,” Kocina concludes. For additional information about this expo, visit www.101expos.com or call 612-798-7256.

Sponsors for this year’s Mid-America Remodeling and Design Expo include Finished Basement Company, and Channels 5 and 45.
