Local Seniors Putting Rhythm into Retirement
Dancers prove that they can still keep in step with life People just can’t help falling in love with the “B”zz. This popular seniors dance troupe will be back by overwhelming demand at the 2008 Seniors Spring Show, running April 2-3, 2008 at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. The “B”zz (pronounced Bees) is a benevolent dance troupe comprised of retired women whose 300+ repertoire ranges from country line dancing to the samba. The group was invited back to the Seniors Spring Show following rave reviews of their performances by audiences of all ages. GOver the years, the “B”zz have given back to the community in so many ways: performing at nursing homes, hospitals and hospices as well as entertaining people of all ages at community events. People watching them realize there is nothing wrong with having fun. They like to show seniors that no matter what they want to do – whether it’s dancing or rollerblading -- now is the time to do it! None of them had dance lessons as kids. They all got married and raised a family. Now, they believe, it’s their time. The goal of the Seniors Spring Show is to help seniors get more fun and excitement out of retirement, just as the “B”zz have always done. Dancing with the “B”zz helps these women keep in shape physically and mentally. They enjoy the exercise, their ability to entertain, and their involvement with audiences of all ages. The “B”zz stay busy throughout the year performing at local festivals, parades and the Mall of America, among other venues. They have even served as Grand Marshals of Edina’s Fourth of July parade. The “B”zz will kick up their heels both days of the Seniors Spring Show, an event that also will showcase many other senior products and services, and two stages of free seminars and fun entertainment. The show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Admission is $3 with the half price coupon available on the Web site (www.101expos.com), and free to kids 17 and under when accompanied by an adult. Free shuttle service is available. Consult the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel Web site at www.mysticlake.com for more information. More Expo information is also available on the Expo hotline, 612-798-7256.
