FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
With good paying jobs so hard to find, where should a woman with your strengths and passions look for work?
This year’s Girlfriends Expo & Getaway will feature a free seminar, designed to help you discover your options and take the first step forward.

When the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced earlier this year that women now hold nearly 50 percent of the nation's jobs, it may have sounded like cheery news. But the reality isn't quite as positive. On average, women work fewer hours than men, hold more part time jobs and earn less money. And where does job satisfaction fit into the equation

Wouldn't you love to earn a decent living and actually enjoy what you do? "When you can focus your energy on work that's meaningful to you, and you are using your innate strengths, you stand a better chance of advancing in your career," says Christine Huff, Career and Work Services Manager for WomenVenture, who is designing a free workshop called Finding Work that Works, to be presented at the Girlfriends Expo & Getaway (www.101expos.com) on November 21 at Treasure Island Resort & Casino.

"I have devoted my life to helping women succeed," says Robin Kocina, President of Mid-America Events & Expos, producers of the Girlfriends Expo & Getaway. "Our goal by hosting this workshop is to help women make transitions that will help them deal with the economic realities. We also wanted to give them tools that would help them find their passion so that they may truly enjoy their careers."

Designed and presented specifically for women by WomenVenture, the Finding Works that Works seminar will address some of the issues you are probably experiencing including: how to determine what you'd really enjoy doing, or how to get started on that small business idea that's been in the back of your mind for a long time.

"Sometimes it's hard to figure out what your new direction should be," comments Huff. "Whether there’s something you've always wanted to try doing, or you need help figuring out where you want to focus your energies, we can help you uncover your options and determine how to move forward."

Huff says she feels honored to help women find their passions. "To be able to empower people to go into a field of their choosing, and to show them there are options out there, is incredibly uplifting for me and for WomenVenture."

Those interested in reserving a seat at this free seminar, which will be held on Saturday November 21st during the Girlfriends Expo & Getaway, featuring the Women’s Home & Interior Design Expo, may do so online at www.101expos.com/GEG. After the seminar, you can continue learning through WomenVenture’s many classes including the series, Career and Life Planning for Women and Career Consulting.
